Prepare, practise, then review

  1. Choose a specific need

Start with an observation or entry check. Use professional and parental judgement; this is educational guidance, not diagnosis.

  2. Prepare your explanation

Work through modelling, equipment, adaptations and six session suggestions. Adult knowledge checks and reflections support your preparation.

  3. Practise with the learner

Open the linked activity through its normal access checks. Use existing assignment and assessment tools where your account permits.

  4. Decide what comes next

Use fresh pupil work and the exit or retention guidance. Completing adult preparation does not establish pupil mastery or programme effectiveness.

Make focused support part of your learning toolkit

Compare current memberships and choose the parent, educator or school account that fits your responsibilities. Parent accounts include 40 selected home-support foundations; educator accounts offer all 525 guides. Linked pupil activities retain their own access rules. Completing preparation does not certify pupil mastery or a qualification.

ONE FOCUSED NEED AT A TIME

Prepare with a purpose

Start with an entry check, model the learning, choose suitable practice and use a fresh exit check. Later review helps you decide what to revisit. Schools should follow their own phonics sequence and matched decodable books.

What does adult completion mean?

A guide records ten adult preparation steps, including a knowledge check and private reflection. It does not certify a qualification or show pupil mastery. Assign and assess pupil activities through their existing learning tools.
