1. Who we are

This website, learnaroo.online, is operated by Learnaroo Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales (company no. 00000000; registered office 1 Example Street, London, EC1A 1AA). For the purposes of UK data protection law, Learnaroo Ltd is the data controller for personal data collected through this corporate website.

Our product platform, Learnaroo Hub, has its own privacy notice. On that platform, when we process pupil, staff and parent data on behalf of a school or trust, the school/trust is the data controller and Learnaroo acts as a data processor on its documented instructions.

2. The law we follow

We process personal data in line with the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

3. What we collect

• Enquiry data — name, role, organisation, email, phone and message when you use our contact form.
• Investor data — if you register for investor access: name, email, password (stored hashed), firm/entity details, investor classification and self-certification, and the details you submit in an investor application. Sensitive application details are encrypted at rest.
• Usage data — cookies and analytics about how you use the site (see our Cookie Policy), plus server logs (IP address, browser, pages viewed) for security and operation.

4. Why we use it, and our lawful basis

• To respond to enquiries and manage relationships — legitimate interests, or steps prior to a contract.
• To operate the investor portal (registration, verification, assessing and managing applications, providing access to materials) — legitimate interests and, where applicable, compliance with our legal/regulatory obligations.
• To send you service emails (account verification, status updates) — necessary to provide the service you requested.
• Analytics and site improvement — consent (via the cookie banner).
• Security, fraud prevention and legal compliance — legitimate interests and legal obligation.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers (processors) acting on our instructions, including: our hosting provider (Hostinger), analytics (Google, via Site Kit) and email delivery. Each is bound to protect your data. We may disclose data where required by law.

6. International transfers

Some providers (e.g. Google Analytics) may process data outside the UK. Where they do, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as the UK’s International Data Transfer Agreement or adequacy regulations.

7. How long we keep it

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purpose collected: enquiry data for up to 24 months after last contact; investor records for the duration of the relationship and for as long as needed to meet legal/regulatory obligations; analytics per the retention set in our analytics tools. We then delete or anonymise it.

8. How we protect it

We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), encryption at rest for sensitive investor fields, role-based access controls, a web application firewall and audit logging. No system is perfectly secure, but we take appropriate technical and organisational measures.

9. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any right, email hello@learnaroo.online. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, though we’d welcome the chance to resolve any concern first.
